Assalamualaikum,

Yes I know it has been a long time since I last updated my entry.

1. Still in settling down period. Need more consultations on how to survive excel in Grad School.

2. Alhamdulillah, everything is really nice here. 2 mins walk to masjid. (just like in San Jose). Big Muslim community, in fact the biggest masjid in the UK is just few blocks away. Halal foods is everywhere. Can’t ask more, too many blessings.

3. I live with 3 doctors in my apartment, and I’m the only engineer. Huhu..too many doctors surrounding my life.

4. The tube here is not as efficient as in Tokyo. Miss those days, where everything comes right on time and works perfectly.

Ok enough ranting.

interesting to know that this ayah comes right after ayah about Ramadhan. How cool is that?

Last 10 nights Du’a

Assalamualaikum,

How’s ramadhan treating you? or perhaps….how are you treating ramadhan?

Just want to share a great piece of advice from Ustaz Muhammad Al-Shareef regarding making du’a for the Laylatal Qadr

Step 1: Go somewhere really beautiful, where no one can disturb you
Step 2: Imagine Allah says to you, “Ask whatever you wish and I shall grant it to you.”  Think of everything good you would ask for from this life and the next.
Step 3: After thinking of everything you can, sit down and write it out.
Step 4: Pick 5 things, your favorites, and consistently ask Allah for these 5 every night in the last ten. Your dua will be guaranteed to have landed on Laylatul-Qadr! How cool is that?

Example:

1. Maghfirah
2. Dakwah
3. Family
4. Blessed Life
5. Palestine

Watak Al-Quran

Selain puasa, watak utama dalam bulan Ramadhan ialah Al-Quran. Malah bagi saya watak Al-Quran itu lagi utama dari puasa, kerana kalau bukan kerana Al-Quran maka tidaklah puasa itu difardhukan. Oleh itu tidak seharusnya watak Al-Quran hanya disampingkan dalam scene Ramadhan.

Di sinilah kita dapat melihat kehebatan Al-Quran yang persis mengubah serta mempengaruhi masyarakat dunia berkurun lamanya. Jika orang mempersoalkan apa hebatnya Al-Quran? Lihatlah pada bulan Ramadhan!

Apa yang menyebabkan masyarakat dunia menjauhi makanan serta minuman, sedangkan itu adalah suatu keperluan?

Apa yang menyebabkan para suami memisahkan diri dari para isteri?

Apa yang menyebabkan perokok tegar menjauhi rokoknya?

Apa yang menyebabkan sang pengumpat dan pencaci keji meninggalkan tabiatnya?

Ini semua terjadi dengan cukup satu ayat yang terdiri dari beberapa perkataan. Saya yakin anda semua hafal benar ayat tersebut.

“Ya ayyuhal lazhi na aamanu kutiba alaikumus siyam kama kutiba ‘alal lazhi na min koblikum la’alakum tattaqun”

Jadi jika masyarakat dunia boleh beriman benar dengan satu ayat ini, maka kenapa tidak ayat-ayat Al-Quran yang seterusnya.

Quick post.

Sometimes I feel reluctant to write anything.

“man kana yu’minu billah wal yaumil aakhir, fal yakul khoiran au liyasmut”

whoever believes in Allah and Yawm Qiyamah, let him say something good OR remain silent

This hadith should give a hard time to every believers. Believers will always remain silent or speak only good words.

I can’t deny after sometime when I read back what I wrote,  feel really want to delete some of the posts thinking that they are of no benefits. But I guess it’s just a learning process and people do make mistake. That’s how we should get back on feet and walk again till we stumble. Same goes to tawba, only when we make mistake and realize it then we can feel the power of maghfirah.

“Kullu ibn Adama khottoun, wa khoiru khottoiina at tawwabeen”

Every son of Adam is a sinner, and the best sinner is the repenter

Quranic Vocab

So everytime ramadhan comes,  I have this dilemma of wanting to spend most of my time finish reading Quran as many as I could versus to have a real deep tadabbur in each ayah and still able to finish reading it, which the latter would have a longer impact on myself even after ramadhan ends but not as “time efficient” as the first one, given the fact that ramadhan only lasts for 30 days and you will get irritated when your friends could finish reading Quran 3 or 4 times.

So I remembered my Quranic Vocab that has been sitting on my Desktop for quite sometime which I think would do some relief to my problem. At least I can go over the Surah’s vocab first then when I read the Quran I can get roughly the picture of what the Surah talks about.

Came across with something to ponder upon

Kola robbi anzirni ila yaumi yub’athuun (15:36)

Satan:  Oh Lord, give me respite until the Day of Resurrection.

Kola fainnaka minal mundzoriin (15:37)

Allah Almighty: You are among those who are given respite.

Even Shaitan makes du’a and his du’a was accepted.

Anymore excuses not to make du’a during this blessed Ramadhan? huhu…

Let’s ask for His rahmah, His maghfirah….. and that thing also… huh? what thing???

The Last Lecture

Struck by a fever. Temperature stayed above 39C for about 3 days.
Really thought I was infected by H1N1. Still haven’t gone to the hospital. Good thing I have a doctor in the family, medications are easily accessible.
Had to excuse myself from daurah. Driving back with thoughts that I will be adding up the numbers to the H1N1 victims.

Thinking hard what are the really good ‘amal that I’ve done so far. What have I prepared..? …  Scary thoughts…

Alhamdulillah, I’ve recovered. Now that I am given one more chance, got to work hard for Ramadhan.
