Wash that dirt spot!

I bet some of the readers here have some experiences attending job interviews in the past. Anyone who goes to a job interview will try as hard to put a clean nice shirt on to give the best impression during the interview.

Let’s think through this…

What if there is a small spot of spilled coffee right in the middle of your new white shirt that you’re unaware of until in the middle of the interview? Don’t you feel embarrassed and you try so hard to hide the spot from being seen? Will you not think to yourself that that small spot will ruin all your efforts to get the job? What would the interviewer think of you when noticing that small coffee spot on your shirt? Do you think you’re going to succeed the interview?

Similarly…

We have an appointed interview with Allah subhana wa ta’ala . If we try so hard to hide that small coffee spot, what about that black spot in our heart? What would you think of yourself when Allah sees the black spot on your heart?

If we do not dare to come for an interview with a spot on our shirt, how could we dare to come to Allah with a black spot on our heart.

This is a reminder for myself and for you as well.
